If you live in a community with a Town Information Center (TIC) – or maybe one is on your regular walking route and you take an occasional look – please feel free to offer feedback about them.
The Town of Carrboro has installed four Town Information Centers (outdoor kiosks) in Rocky Brook Mobile Home Park, on Rock Haven Road, in the Oakwood public housing community, and in the Pine Grove Mobile Home Park.
We are asking how likely people are to use the kiosks to access community information and resources. Also, we would like to know what types of information people would like to see. All comments are welcome.
There are paper surveys in English and Spanish posted at the TICs, or you can access an online survey via a QR code posted. The surveys are available:
Background
During the unprecedented times of COVID-19, Town of Carrboro staff have looked for new avenues to provide critical news to the community. We recognize that many do not have digital access, or are not plugged into social media or email. The information centers are one way to increase access to information, resources, and civic processes by everyone, especially people of color and marginalized communities.
The Town is evaluating locations for additional Town Information Centers. If you are interested in requesting consideration for a Town Information Center in your neighborhood, please contact Catherine Lazorko, communication and engagement director, at clazorko@townofcarrboro.org.
