July 4th Celebration

Enjoy a small town tradition with big time fun!

The 2019 Carrboro July 4th Celebration will be held at Carrboro Town Commons on Thursday, July 4th.

Help us kick off the event at the Weaver Street Market Lawn beginning at 9:30am!

A parade from Weaver Street Market to Town Hall, starting at 10:50am, will bring the Weaver Street participants together with those in attendance at Carrboro Town Hall.  Enjoy plenty of activities at the Kids Fun Zone, along with games, food trucks, and live music!

At 12:00pm, Mayor Lydia Lavelle will host a gathering of community members for the 6th annual community reading of Frederick Douglass' essay, "The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro."

The activities at Town Commons will conclude by 4:00pm to give you time to rest up before the fireworks in Chapel Hill.
