The Carrboro Tourism Development Authority is responsible for promoting travel and tourism in the Town of Carrboro. The Authority is funded through use of hotel room use occupancy tax. These tax dollars must be used to promote travel and tourism or for tourism related expenditures.
The TDA sets aside funds each year to support local events that draw visitors from outside of Carrboro or public projects that support tourism, i.e. public art, way-finding, etc. Event planners, designers and artist are encouraged to submit proposals for events/projects. Applications and the guidelines for applying can be found here. Projects funded must submit a follow-up final report found here.
