  1. Art Therapy Institute - June 2nd Friday ArtWalk: Damien Mathis

    June 14, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Please join us for the 2nd Friday ArtWalk opening reception for artist Damien Mathis. Artist Statement: My Name is Damien Mathis. A Marine Combat Veteran, I’m contributing my perspective's creativity to the thought of possibilities. I want to help people overcome their anxieties of everyday problems, even if it is brief. There is a balance to our emotions and creativity. Both are unmeasured and often expressed. Becoming an artist has helped me to gain control of reflective judgement. The palette is self-rewarding. Battling the understandings of our daily problems, I feel we must engage our own imperfections. Do what you love, so people can love what you do. This free event is part of the Carrboro/Chapel Hill 2nd Friday ArtWalk.
